PERFECT: The all new Morimoto Standalone Canbus 2.0 wiring harnesses are the perfect solution for a headlight upgrade on vehicles with finicky headlight systems. Say goodbye to “bulb out” warning lamps and flickering caused by “can-bus” systems.
EFFECTIVE: Each canbus headlight harness has a built-in resistor pack to mimic the characteristics of a standard halogen bulb being plugged in to your stock harness, tricking the car into thinking nothing has changed – effectively avoiding the side effects of lamp out systems such as warning lights, flickering, or pulsing.
NOISE FREE: The Morimoto Standalone Canbus 2.0 harnesses have built in ground circuits to help minimize annoying radio interference from your HID Ballasts. They don’t have to be connected, but relative to ungrounded systems – these will allow for a much less EMI-prone outcome.
UNIVERSAL: The original version was developed specifically with the VW and Euro market in mind, and they worked well on cars like the newer VW MK5 Golfs, Jettas, BMW E46, etc. The new Standalone 2.0 harnesses also work well on most domestic vehicles like Jeep Grand Cherokees and Dodge Durangos. Only the most difficult canbus systems (such as 2015 Dodge Rams) will require more complicated harnesses like the full Morimoto from Morimoto!
OPTIMAL: When used with Morimoto’s XB35 ballasts – these are technically even more “can-bus friendly” than something like a comparable Hylux 2A88 ballast with an integrated canbus harness – since the start amperage of Morimoto’s ballasts is lower, the combo will create less overall strain on the factory wiring.
SIMPLE: With fewer connections to make compared to something like a full relay wire harness; even your mom could set this thing up it’s that easy. Input here, output there, ground there…done.
SOLD AS A PAIR: The standalone canbus headlight harnesses come as a pair, one for each side of the car. They are meant to be used as a substitute for a full relay harness, not in addition to one.
